Through the support of Scripture Union Queensland, Currimundi Special School is proud to offer the part time services of a school chaplain as part of our wellbeing support team. Chappy Sarah plays an important role in fostering a caring and inclusive school environment where students are encouraged to be Caring, Safe and Successful.
Our school chaplain provides social, emotional and spiritual support to the whole school community - not only students, but also their families and staff. Chappy Sarah is a trusted and approachable presence who offers a listening ear and practical support to those navigating life's challenges.
As part of her work, Chappy Sarah helps students build positive relationships, develop resilience and strengthen their sense of belonging at school and in the community. She encourages students to be the best versions of themselves, empowering them to grow in confidence and make positive choices both at school and beyond.
Each Thursday morning, Chappy Sarah - together with some of our teacher aides - runs a free breakfast program, helping students start their day with a nutritious meal in a calm and welcoming environment.
