School transport assistance scheme
As part of enrolment into a Special School, your child is eligible to apply for Transport Assistance, if you are unable to transport your child to school.
A Deputy Principal at Currimundi Special School will organise the initial distance check and transport application form, and any amendments made from time to time, such as change of address. Please note: any changes made to transport may take up to 10 days to come into effect.
All transport applications are approved by a representative of Education Queensland at a regional (not school) level.
Blue Gum Buses are contracted by the government to supply transport for our students. Blue Gum is not employed by our school, and as such, any issues with times, availability etc. need to be directed to the bus company.
If Blue Gum contract buses are full, or cannot transport your child, a taxi may be provided by the department of transport.
Please read through the information provided on the Transport Program overview, and the Parent Carer responsibilities.
Should you wish to apply to use the school transport service, please fill out the eligibility checklist form provided.
PLEASE NOTE: The eligibility checklist is NOT the transport application; it just provides us with information to make an informed decision for the assessment. You will be contacted to sign the official transport application at a later date, if eligibility criteria has been met.
Please contact the Deputy Principal should you require any further clarification on transport issues.
