School transport assistance scheme
As part of enrolment into a Special School, your child is eligible to apply for Transport Assistance, if you are unable to transport your child to school.
A Deputy Principal at Currimundi Special School will organise the initial distance check and transport application form, and any amendments made for time to time, such as change of address. Please note: any changes made to transport may take up to a week to come into effect.
All transport applications are approved by a representative of Education Queensland at a regional (not school) level.
Blue Gum Buses are contracted by the government to supply transport for our students. Blue Gum is not employed by our school, and as such, any issues with times, availability etc need to be directed to the bus company.
If the contract buses are full, taxi transport may be an option..
Please read the information provided on the Transport program overview (PDF, 418KB) and the Parent carer responsibilities (PDF, 518KB).
Should you wish to apply to use the school transport service, please fill out the Transport expression of interest form (PDF, 315KB).
PLEASE NOTE: The expression of interest is NOT the transport application; it just provides us with information on the number of students and their locations for possible transport. You will be contacted to sign the official transport application at a later date.
Please speak to us should you require any further clarification on transport issues.
