Currimundi Special School is a proud PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school. The premise of PBL is that we create opportunities and develop skills through explicit teaching of postive behaviours across multiple environments. Students are more likely to make positive behavioural choices when they have the knowledge, skills and support to do this, and when positive behavioural choices are reinforced through an acknowledgement system.
Our school PBL mascot is Giraman. Currimundi means 'place of the flying fox', and Giraman recognises that our school is on Gubbi Gubbi country, and the connection and ongoing legacy of our First Nations Australians.
